On November 3rd 2020, surviving COVID19 Americans will decide between a creepy, forgetful Septuagenarian weird, uncle figure and a Septuagenarian racist, pussy-grabbing, misogynist with an Olympian Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Donald J Trump has consistently displayed all the classic symptoms of NPD, for four long years.
The Freudian checklist for Donald’s chronic narcissism will begin to sound familiar very quickly. First does the 45th President possess a grandiose sense of self-importance? Does the Pope do number twos in the woods? Arrogant, vain with a relentless sense of his own superiority, (‘I have the best words’). Trump is the most malignant Narcissist since Herr Hitler. From the day Donnie first threw his toys out of the Trump gold-plated perambulator, he’s been ‘special’. We, after all are lucky to have him.
Does Donald live in a fantasy world that supports his titanic delusions of grandeur? Again, Pope Francis is back in the woods doing his business. Donald’s house of cards world is propped up by distortion, self-deception and magical thinking, (even wishing away the COVID19 pandemic). He tirelessly spins self-glorifying fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance and attractiveness that make him feel ‘special’ and in control.
Does the Donald need constant praise and admiration? I do hope the Pope has more than leaves to wipe his botty. Trump’s sense of superiority needs to be constantly applauded and recognised to keep him pumped up to his pompous best. He only hires people who are prepared to feed Trump’s towering ego. If they fail to continuously heap praise on The Donald, he will take it as betrayal and ‘Fire’ them instantly. As if he was back hosting The Apprentice.
Then there’s the question of Donald’s overblown sense of entitlement and expectation for preferential treatment. Stay in the woods your Holiness, we might be some time. Trump’s Ivy League education, was bankrolled by his wealthy, real estate developer father. He dodged the Vietnam draft, thanks to miraculously developing bone spurs, validated by a dodgy, well paid podiatrist. Then there’s the ‘small’ question of a $1 million loan from Papa Trump to get Donald a head start on the business ladder. The New York Times reports it was nearer $60.7 million! It’s tough at the top.
Next up on the Narcissist’s Check List is Donald’s ability to exploit others without guilt or shame. Please cover your eyes, as well as your posterior, your Papalness. A complete lack of empathy is Donald’s Super Power. Ordinary Americans were of little consequence to him when they were his tenants, so why should they be now he’s President? Narcissistic Donald wouldn’t bat an eyelid about pulling the wool over the American People’s eyes, for a second term. After all it’s #oldwhiteguyslivesmatter, not theirs. To a narcissist people are objects that serve a purpose and once used, are discarded. Just ask the two, previous Mrs Trumps.
Finally, there’s the Narcissistic trait that The Donald has become synonymous with. Frequently demeaning, intimidating, bullying and belittling others. The Pope, if he ever stops pooping in the woods, knows it takes a real douchebag to publicly mock a disabled reporter. But it’s Trump’s Twitter account where his nastiness, really shows up. His Tweets have been described as textbook cyberbullying. When Donald encounters someone with a characteristic he lacks, he goes on the offensive. Just ask 16-year old, Greta Thunberg.
Every time his name appears in print, it feeds his ever-growing ego. I'd like to see the effect on superego if no mention of his name, no caricatures, nothing... As if he was a nobody.
ReplyDeleteI hear you but Trump's misinformation about COVID19 is quite frankly, dangerous. Unfortunately, quite a few Americans still believe what he says. Which means they'll be disappearing, not Donald. Hopefully Trump loses come November and he goes quietly. I some how doubt it. Stay safe. Will. x
